In 1977 the Jefferson Awards began our Media Partnership through which local newspapers and television stations ran major promotions dramatizing local “Unsung Heroes.” In the first year we began with 12 Media Partners. Today we have 147 Media Partners in 93 communities. This is the nation’s largest media partnership highlighting service to America. The donated value of the print and air space exceeds $50 million per year.
