Founder, Youth for National Change
Sareana Kimia is a high school and a dual enrolled student at the University of Maryland, College Park. She helps shape the world, not just for the future but for the present. In May 2013, Sareana founded a national, youth, non-partisan, advocacy organization - Youth for National Change (YNC). The organization aims to bring young people (ages 24 and under) to the policy-making table and increase youth participation in the government. YNC focuses on increasing civic engagement, promoting open-mindedness and diversity, and building leadership. As a GlobeChanger of the Jefferson Awards Foundation, Sareana hopes to elaborate and enhance YNC’s efforts to engage youth in civic and public service. Her life-long goal is to establish equality and justice for everyone because each and every individual deserves to have the same opportunities regardless of their background.
