Hillary Schafer is the CEO of the Jefferson Awards Foundation (JAF), an organization dedicated to powering others to have maximum impact on the things they care about most. After immense efforts around Hurricane Sandy relief, Hillary decided it was time to leave the for-profit space and focus all of her energy and heart to elevating, celebrating and generating social impact. Under Hillary’s leadership since 2013, the organization has seen national partnerships grow by 300%, added four new Leadership Communities, trained 10,000 new youth leaders and tracked over $100m of public service impact from its five programs. Prior to joining JAF in September 2013, she worked on Wall Street for 12 years. In her capacity as the Head of U.S. Institutional Equity Sales in New York for Citigroup, Hillary was one of the highest ranking women in the equity business. From 1995 to 1999, Hillary was the Executive Director of Economic Security 2000 fighting to save and remodel Social Security. Hillary earned an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Middlebury College.
